Backflow Prevention
Our trained team can provide a range of services relating to backflow prevention including testing, certification, problem diagnosis, installation and repairs to existing installations.
What is Backflow?
Backflow is the flow of water from a property back into the mains (fresh) water pipes. This water carries contaminants like oil, bacteria and dirt and can cause serious health issues in the local area. Backflow prevention devices are fitted to ensure if there's any cross-connection there's no contamination in the main supply.
Backflow can occur when:
- Water pressure at the property is higher than at the main
- There is low water pressure in the main
- You have faulty plumbing

Annual Testing is a Legal Requirement
Each backflow prevention device must be tested on an annual basis and is a legal requirement and condition of your water supply connection. Testing ensures that your backflow device is maintained to an acceptable standard and continues to operate effectively.
A Compliance AND Health Issue
Testing is both a compliance and health issue and compliance ensures the drinking water supply is protected from backflow and contamination. A properly performing backflow device also ensures no water pressure problems inside your building.
We can assist with Certificate of Compliance and Backflow Prevention Device Inspection and Maintenance Report paperwork for each device.
